About The Position

Join Buchanan Automotive Inc. as an Automotive Technician Used Car Inspector in Waynesboro, PA. You will utilize your technical expertise to inspect, diagnose, and recommend necessary repairs, helping us maintain our reputation for reliable and trustworthy vehicles. Position Overview The Service Technician performs vehicle maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards and builds Customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in Buchanan Auto Stores as a care-giver for their vehicle safety and reliability. We have immediate openings for entry level, A, B, and C Level certified technicians with aggressive compensation plans.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an automotive technician or used car inspector.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and teamwork.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as an express/quick lube technician is preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety
  • Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to identify mechanical and cosmetic issues.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and road tests to assess vehicle condition.
  • Provide detailed inspection reports and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Ensure all inspected vehicles meet company safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with the sales and service teams to communicate vehicle conditions and provide support.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs performed.
  • Stay up-to-date with automotive industry standards and regulations.
  • Performing vehicle maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Communicating with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
