About The Position
Tonkin Hillsboro Ford is seeking an Automotive Technician/Mechanic who values steady work, consistent hours, and a shop that’s set up for long-term success. This role involves diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles to manufacturer specifications, requiring quality workmanship and a strong work ethic. The dealership is expanding its Service Team to meet increasing demand, offering plenty of work, strong shop flow, and opportunities for growth. The company is investing in its Service Department to create a supportive workplace where technicians can stay busy, grow their skills, and feel valued.
Requirements
- 2+ years of prior automotive experience
- Personal Tools
- Driver’s License
- 18 years or older with a clean driving record, valid driver's license, ability to pass a criminal background check, and a drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- ASE Certifications are preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Diagnose automotive problems as they arise
- Conduct inspections, repair engine failure, repair mechanical and electrical systems, and replace parts
- Comply with manufacturer specifications throughout the repair/servicing process
- Mentor and help other technicians on the service team
