About The Position

Berlin City Auto Group seeks an experienced Technician with ASE certifications to join our successful and passionate team. This role is for a Main Line automotive technician who is an expert in automotive repair. Job duties include diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing vehicles; overseeing and signing off on repairs completed by other mechanics; and training new technicians. A qualified Main Line Technician will have experience in using technology and tools to perform auto service as quickly and effectively as possible. Career qualifications for a Main Line automotive technician include certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid Maine Vehicle Inspection license
  • Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a favorable motor vehicle record
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Over 2 years of technician experience
  • Strong knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance, including diagnosing and repairing automotive systems such as the engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions to stay up-to-date with rapidly changing technology
  • Reliable individual with a proven work ethic
  • Team player who is process-oriented
  • Passionate about taking care of the customer
  • Communicate well with service team members to ensure customers are receiving accurate service promptly

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair work efficiently, adhering to dealership standards.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions to stay up-to-date with rapidly changing technology.
  • Inspect and test vehicles, recording findings to identify necessary repairs.
  • Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing automotive vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly and effectively with the Service Advisor to ensure customers are informed of any additional services needed.
  • Providing an estimate of the time required for other repairs.
  • Execute repairs under warranty in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
