About The Position

John James Audubon State Park is searching for an Automotive Technician I to join our Golf Course Maintenance Unit. In this role, you will keep the tractors, mowers, utility vehicles, and irrigation systems that our golf course and grounds crew depend on running safely and reliably. From diagnosing an engine issue to staying ahead of problems with routine inspections and preventive maintenance, you will be the person our team counts on to keep the course in top shape. Our ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience and a solid working knowledge of small engines, mowers, tractors, and other equipment. Comfortable working outdoors, lifting heavy objects, and troubleshooting problems on the fly is a must. A valid driver's license is required. We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded individual who enjoys hands-on work and is willing to lend their knowledge to help train and support the rest of the team.

Requirements

High school graduate.
Two years of automotive and/or equipment repair technical experience.
Vocational or technical school training in automotive/truck repair or a related area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment.
