About The Position

We are a high-volume Subaru dealership looking for a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our growing Service Department. We stay busy, which means plenty of repair orders and plenty of opportunity for a technician who is productive, accurate, and takes pride in doing the job right. We support our technicians through manufacturer training, technical education, and ongoing learning opportunities. We are looking for technicians who care about fixing vehicles correctly.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of automotive service experience
  • Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions licenses
  • Your own professional tools
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
  • Ability to accurately diagnose and repair vehicles
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently while being a team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle check, and background check
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have Pennsylvania inspection/emission license
  • Must have own tools
  • Must be a team player and able to maintain a positive working attitude and environment
  • Knowledge of the English language, spelling, grammar, punctuation and numbering systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software products
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle and background check

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance efficiently and accurately according to dealership and Subaru factory standards.
  • Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
  • Complete all work outlined on repair orders.
  • Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain required parts.
  • Save and properly tag parts when required for warranty repairs or requested by the customer.
  • Thoroughly inspect assigned vehicles and identify additional safety, maintenance, or repair needs.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors immediately when additional work is needed, recommended work is not needed, or a repair cannot be completed within the promised timeframe.
  • Clearly document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
  • Road test vehicles when necessary to verify repairs.
  • Participate in Subaru manufacturer training programs, technical schools, and events.
  • Stay current on manufacturer technical bulletins, repair procedures, and vehicle technology.
  • Report equipment or machinery defects and malfunctions to management.
  • Protect customers' vehicles by keeping them clean and notifying the Service Advisor immediately of any damage or change in vehicle condition.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Work as part of a team to keep the Service Department running efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
