We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team. Position Summary The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance services on customer and dealership vehicles in accordance with Nissan manufacturer standards, warranty guidelines, and dealership quality benchmarks. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a dedication to exceeding customer expectations through excellent workmanship.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of automotive service technician experience; dealership experience strongly preferred.
  • ASE Certification(s) required — ASE Master Technician designation preferred.
  • Nissan or other OEM factory training and certification(s) a significant plus.
  • Virginia State Safety Inspector License preferred; willingness to obtain upon hire considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing domestic and import vehicles.
  • Solid working knowledge of OBD-II diagnostics, electrical systems, and current vehicle technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical service manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple repair orders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate vehicle diagnostics utilizing Nissan-approved diagnostic software, scan tools, and technical service bulletins (TSBs) to identify mechanical and electrical concerns.
  • Execute a broad range of automotive repairs and maintenance services including engine, transmission, drivetrain, brake, suspension, steering, HVAC, electrical, and emissions systems.
  • Complete all repair orders thoroughly and accurately, documenting findings, parts used, labor performed, and time in compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections (MPVIs) and clearly communicate findings and recommended services to Service Advisors.
  • Perform Virginia State Safety and Emissions Inspections in accordance with DMV regulations (State Inspector License a plus).
  • Adhere to all shop safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and dealership policies to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work area to a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Collaborate professionally with Service Advisors, Parts Department personnel, and fellow technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely vehicle delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing Nissan factory and internal training programs to maintain and advance technical certification levels.
  • Uphold the highest standards of customer satisfaction by ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time, on time, every time.
