About The Position

As a Licensed Mechanic (310S Automotive Service Technician) at our fast-paced collision repair shop, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain various vehicles and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering quality service. This role requires compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Completed 310S Automotive Service Technician and carries a valid license
  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • A minimum of 2 years of active employment as a licensed mechanic
  • Experience with computerized diagnostic
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and effective at time management
  • Works well independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to drive both standard and automatic transmissions an asset
  • Completion of post-secondary (college or university) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including repairs and adjustments to steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, suspension, power steering, clutch, transmission, and related systems.
  • Perform assigned repairs, maintenance, testing, and adjustments within the scope of your qualifications, in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and applicable guidelines and requirements.
  • Test-drive vehicles to verify that repairs have been completed properly and that identified concerns have been resolved.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed in compliance with applicable safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Identify and report any additional maintenance or repairs required during the course of assigned work, including repairs that may need to be completed by other service providers.
  • Accurately document time spent, parts used, repairs completed, and maintenance performed using the appropriate internal forms and systems.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and productive work environment. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with other mechanics, technicians, service advisors, and team members to complete repairs efficiently and maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and certification programs as required. Stay current with emerging automotive technologies, diagnostic equipment, repair techniques, tools, and industry developments.
  • Clearly and professionally explain vehicle concerns, technical issues, and recommended repairs to customers when required.
  • Provide accurate repair estimates and obtain appropriate customer authorization before proceeding with additional repairs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of inspections, repairs, maintenance, parts, and other work performed.
