About The Position

Johnson Volvo Cars Charlotte is growing its Service team and is looking for full-time Automotive Service Technicians at all levels of experience. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer and dealership vehicles while delivering high-quality workmanship. Requirements

  • Automotive maintenance and/or repair experience appropriate to the position.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • The ability to diagnose and repair vehicle concerns appropriate to your experience level.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Basic computer and electronic diagnostic proficiency.
  • A dependable, self-motivated approach to work.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a Service team.
  • A willingness to participate in ongoing technical and manufacturer training.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company standards.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE and manufacturer certifications are preferred but not required for all technician levels.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work accurately and efficiently in accordance with repair orders, dealership standards, and manufacturer procedures.
  • Diagnose vehicle concerns and perform necessary repairs.
  • Inspect vehicles for additional maintenance, safety concerns, or recommended service.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors regarding diagnostic findings, additional work needed, and repair status.
  • Work with the Parts Department to identify and obtain necessary parts.
  • Properly document inspections, repairs, services performed, and recommendations.
  • Follow manufacturer and dealership warranty procedures, including proper handling and tagging of warranty parts.
  • Road-test vehicles as necessary to verify concerns and completed repairs.
  • Use manufacturer technical information, service bulletins, diagnostic equipment, and other available resources.
  • Participate in required manufacturer and dealership training.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Protect and properly care for customer and dealership vehicles.
  • Follow all dealership safety procedures and applicable environmental and hazardous-material requirements.
