About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic for a high-volume luxury store in Palo Alto, CA. This role involves diagnosing and repairing Mercedes-Benz vehicles across various systems, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and maintaining a professional standard. The position is ideal for a technician with strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to quality, looking to grow their expertise within a leading luxury brand in the Silicon Valley market.

Requirements

• 2+ years of dealership technician experience.
• Strong diagnostic foundation; comfortable working through complex, multi-system problems methodically and accurately.
• Mercedes-Benz or European platform experience: BMW, Audi, Porsche, Volvo, or Land Rover backgrounds welcome.
• XENTRY or STAR diagnostic platform experience preferred, or equivalent European diagnostic tool proficiency.
• Low comeback rate and a personal quality standard that doesn't require managing.
• Physically capable of performing the demands of the role throughout the shift.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Mercedes-Benz or European luxury brand experience strongly preferred.
• ASE certifications a strong plus.
• Mercedes-Benz factory certifications highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz vehicles across a full range of systems including engine, transmission, brakes, advanced electrical, suspension, HVAC, ADAS, and beyond, using XENTRY, STAR, and OEM diagnostic procedures.
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans, communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization.
• Execute repairs to Mercedes-Benz factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts.
• Complete repair orders accurately, documenting all work performed, diagnostic findings, and parts used with precision.
• Stay current on Mercedes-Benz technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures.
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation that reflects the standard of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
• Contribute to a shop culture where diagnostic excellence, quality craftsmanship, and professionalism are the baseline.
