About The Position

As an Automotive Estimator with Christian Brothers Automotive, you will play a critical role in our automotive shop as a key repair order builder, ensuring that every guest receives top-notch service and their vehicle is repaired to the highest standards. With your excellent communication and organizational skills, you will coordinate with technicians, build detailed estimates including parts and labor components using industry resources and repair procedures, answer guest inquiries, and maintain an organized repair log to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. You will also handle third-party warranty work, handle parts check-ins, returns, and parts reconciliations. You will also manage all quick service tickets, including waiters, as well as all phone quotes.

Requirements

  • TekMetric software experience and knowledge prefered
  • Strong industry knowledge and ability to build complex tickets accurately and efficiently
  • Deep knowledge and experience estimating tickets involving third-party warranties and the ability to navigate the third-party warranty process
  • Deep understanding of parts ordering, returns, and reconciliation
  • Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with technicians, guests, and other team members to ensure that everyone is on the same page
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills: Estimators coordinate multiple work orders, schedule appointments, and manage paperwork. They must be highly organized to ensure that everything is completed accurately and on time
  • Customer service skills: Must have strong customer service skills to answer customer inquiries, address concerns, and ensure that customers are satisfied with the work that is performed on their vehicles
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer software and automotive store applications
  • Previous experience in an Automotive Sales, Advisor/Writer, or Estimator/Dispatcher position preferred
  • Being dependable and reliable for a position that is scheduled for Monday – Friday, 7am – 6pm
  • Being on your feet the majority of the workday (standing, walking, coordinating parts, etc.)
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
  • Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an Automotive Sales, Advisor/Writer, or Estimator/Dispatcher position preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reviews all digital vehicle inspections by technicians, using them to build detailed estimates / repair orders
  • Build detailed repair orders / estimates including parts and labor components using industry resources and repair proceedures
  • Interface with technicians on each ticket to ensure approprate labor times and parts/proceedures for each repair order so that the repair order can be presented accurately and in a timely manner to the guest
  • Manage all quick service tickets, including waiters, as well as all phone quotes
  • Maintains an organized and up-to-date repair log
  • Answers customer inquiries and prepares estimates for our guest
  • Present the best solution to properly repair our customer’s vehicles in a way that is easy for them to understand
  • Ensure that all work is performed to proper specifications and within the time promised to the guest
  • Build relationships with part supply vendors, tool vendors, and all external vendors effectively
  • Prioritize technician workloads with part availability
  • Prepares a list of needed service department equipment, supplies, and required repairs - reviews service department repairs with the Service Manager
  • Coordinates and schedules maintenance for shop equipment
  • Responsible for the part supply process, including inventory, pricing, returns, warranty claims, etc.
  • Regularly interacts with external vendors on parts inventory and pricing
  • Works together as a team and assists other employees as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
