About The Position

This is a full-time position for an Automotive Reconditioning Technician. The role involves performing vehicle safety inspections, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues on various vehicle makes and models. The technician will also be responsible for communicating with management and the Parts Department, documenting work performed, maintaining a safe work area, and complying with all relevant regulations. Continuous training and participation in certification programs are expected.

Requirements

  • Automotive technical school education, college coursework, or at least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
  • ASE-certified technician.
  • Valid Smog License.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and repair documentation systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Toyota Technician Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle safety inspections and road tests to evaluate operating condition and identify concerns.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues and perform repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
  • Communicate effectively with management and the Parts Department to identify and obtain required parts.
  • Accurately document inspection findings, repair recommendations, and all work performed on repair orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know requirements, and workplace safety standards.
  • Immediately report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to management.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and manufacturer repair guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs as required.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
