About The Position

We are a professional off-road racing team seeking a motivated and hands-on Race Shop Technician to support vehicle preparation, maintenance, race operations, and shop organization. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a passion for motorsports. This individual will assist with the inspection, repair, servicing, and preparation of race vehicles and equipment while helping maintain an organized, safe, and efficient shop environment. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, can adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines, and is willing to travel in support of race events, testing sessions, and promotional activities. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, teamwork, and representing the team professionally both in the shop and at race venues. Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Automotive / Race Shop Technician to support the daily operations of a professional off-road racing team. This role is responsible for assisting with race vehicle preparation, maintenance, repairs, shop organization, inventory management, and race event support. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, organized, dependable, and passionate about motorsports and high-performance off-road vehicles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of automotive, powersports, fabrication, diesel, or motorsports experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 25-50% and work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with off-road race vehicles, UTVs, trophy trucks, high-performance vehicles, fabrication, welding, race support, inventory control, or forklift operation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of suspension systems, drivetrains, and racing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance, inspection, repair, and preparation of race vehicles and support equipment.
  • Perform routine service, diagnostics, component replacement, and race-ready inspections.
  • Prepare, clean, and detail vehicles for competition, testing, and promotional events.
  • Install and maintain race components while ensuring safety and performance standards.
  • Travel to races, test sessions, and promotional events.
  • Support vehicle setup, pit operations, race-day activities, and emergency repairs.
  • Load, transport, unload, and organize vehicles, trailers, tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Represent the team professionally with sponsors, fans, vendors, and event personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Track, organize, receive, stock, and manage inventory of parts, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain shop equipment and support inventory control processes.
  • Follow all team safety procedures and maintain a hazard-free workplace.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
  • Verify vehicles and equipment meet applicable safety standards.
