The Automotive Quality Technician will have a strong background in automotive service and repair, with a familiarity with buses. This role will specialize in ensuring units completed from our production line are ready for the field. The Automotive Quality Technician plays a crucial role in diagnosing and fixing vehicle issues, completing routine maintenance services, and ensuring that all completed units meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of automotive mechanical job experience.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
  • Experience in the Bus Industry in a service shop or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify mechanical problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Test parts and systems to ensure that they are mechanically sound.
  • Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
  • Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires.
  • Install basic parts such as wheel liners and mud flaps.
  • Disassemble and reassemble parts.
  • Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective.
  • Portering when needed.
  • Partner with Production Support to identify and resolve defects on completed units from the production line.
