About The Position
LEHR is seeking an Automotive Public Safety Vehicle Installer to build and install mission-critical vehicles for police, fire, utility, and other essential-service fleets. The role involves vehicle upfitting, automotive electrical work, fabrication, and hands-on installation of emergency equipment. Candidates with electrical and installation experience or aptitude may be considered for training.
Requirements
- Experience with public safety vehicle upfitting.
- Experience with 12V electrical systems, such as Whelen products.
- Experience with material fabrication.
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in and around vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Remove factory-installed interior and exterior vehicle components.
- Install emergency vehicle equipment, including light bars, sirens, speakers, push bumpers, and partitions.
- Install cameras, computers, and related equipment.
- Perform 12V electrical wiring and system installations.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.
- Organize tools and inventory.
