About The Position

Desert Diesel Repair is seeking a HIGH-PERFORMANCE GAS TECHNICIAN / BUILDER who is passionate about horsepower and high-performance builds, including boosted, cammed, and high-horsepower engines. This role is for experienced individuals who can handle complex builds that other shops cannot, taking vehicles from stock to fully customized and finished, with a factory-like appearance. Strong electrical diagnostic skills, including CAN networks, wiring diagrams, oscilloscopes, ECM/TCM diagnostics, and complex electrical problems, are highly valued.

Requirements

Proven experience as a high-performance gas technician/builder
Expertise in building LS/LT, Coyote, and Hemi engines
Experience with supercharged, single, and twin-turbo setups
Proficiency in cam, head, and valvetrain packages
Experience with complete engine builds
Knowledge of performance fuel systems
Skills in custom fabrication
Experience with high-horsepower street and race builds
Strong electrical diagnostic skills
Familiarity with CAN networks, wiring diagrams, oscilloscopes, and ECM/TCM diagnostics
Ability to diagnose and solve complex electrical problems
Attention to detail
Pride in one's work and builds
Ability to take a vehicle from stock to fully built and finished with a factory appearance

Nice To Haves

Strong electrical diagnostic skills are even better
Expertise in CAN networks, wiring diagrams, oscilloscopes, ECM/TCM diagnostics, and electrical problems that make other technicians give up

Responsibilities

Build high-performance gas engines (LS/LT, Coyote, Hemi)
Install supercharged, single, and twin-turbo setups
Perform cam, head, and valvetrain package installations
Complete engine builds
Install performance fuel systems
Perform custom fabrication
Work on high-horsepower street and race builds
Conduct electrical and drivability diagnostics
Diagnose and repair complex electrical issues, including CAN networks and ECM/TCM problems
Transform stock vehicles into fully built, boosted, and finished high-performance machines
Ensure builds are completed with a factory-like finish and attention to detail
