About The Position

Dent Wizard is seeking a skilled Automotive PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) Technician. This role involves repairing ding and dent damage for customers on a mobile route or at an assigned location using proprietary processes. Responsibilities include reviewing work with customers, writing work orders, negotiating for business, and potentially training other technicians. The ideal candidate possesses technical skill, a quality mindset, and an outgoing personality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience
  • Certification or training in Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) techniques is required or enrollment in DentWizard’s PDR training program.
  • Proficiency in using specialized PDR tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of automotive body structures and finishes.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Toughness and grit to work outside in all kinds of weather.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to frequently kneel, bend and squat, as well as lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be capable of simple and fine motor hand manipulations.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Repair ding and dent damage for customers on a mobile route or at an assigned location using proprietary processes.
  • Review work with customers, walk lots, write work orders, and negotiate to gain approval and build business.
  • Train other Techs and work with Manager to prospect new accounts.
  • Perform Dent Assessment using specialized PDR tools, such as dent pullers, rods, and reflection boards, to manipulate dents from the inside of the panel.
  • Employ lighting and reflective tools to identify subtle imperfections in the metal.
  • Carefully and skillfully massage dents and deformities in the vehicle’s body panels to restore their original shape.
  • Inspect repaired areas to ensure they meet quality standards and match the surrounding paint and finish.
  • Make any necessary adjustments or refinements.
  • Interact with customers to explain the repair process, provide cost estimates, and answer questions.
  • Serve as SME Technician for the Division.
  • Maintain records of preparation processes, materials used, and any issues or defects encountered.
  • Ensure the vehicle’s structural integrity is maintained during the repair process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
