About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across multiple dealerships! The Automotive Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for salaried, hourly, commissioned, and flat-rate employees, while maintaining compliance with applicable employment standards, tax regulations, and company policies. This position is well suited to a payroll professional with automotive dealership experience and strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience.
  • Previous experience in an automotive dealership or dealer group environment preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, CRA requirements, and employment standards.
  • Experience processing commissions, bonus plans, and technician payroll.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple automotive dealerships.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll through ADP Workforce Now.
  • Administer payroll for salaried, hourly, commissioned, and technician compensation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, employment standards, and statutory remittances.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts including payroll liabilities, benefits, vacation accruals, and source deductions.
  • Prepare and review ROEs, T4s, year-end payroll reporting, and government filings.
  • Administer employee benefits, pension plans, and payroll deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR, department managers, and dealership controllers regarding payroll matters.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Assist with payroll audits, budgeting, and forecasting as required.
  • Supervise a team of 3–5 payroll staff members.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and internal controls.
