About The Position

Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram, a proud member of the VIP Automotive Group, is looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Stock Associate to join our Parts Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in an automotive dealership, parts warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory, warehouse operations, or automotive parts environment. The Parts Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, checking, organizing, staging, and processing automotive parts while ensuring that parts are accurately matched to invoices and properly prepared for delivery and dealership use. Requirements

  • Previous automotive parts or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Dealership Parts Department experience is a plus.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory, staging, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify automotive parts and match parts to invoices.
  • Ability to work with computers, scanners, PDA systems, and dealership software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to safely operate dealership equipment.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Verify receiving documents for incoming automotive parts.
  • Receive, check, and process incoming freight.
  • Follow up on shortages and report discrepancies to the Parts Manager.
  • Print invoices for pulled in-stock parts for all applicable lines.
  • Check all parts against invoices to verify the correct part and quantity.
  • Circle or otherwise verify quantities on invoices as required.
  • Ensure parts are placed in the correct staging area.
  • Identify missing, incorrect, or misplaced parts and communicate issues to the appropriate dealership personnel.
  • Locate parts that may be stocked at other dealership locations.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory and staging areas.
  • Check all routes to ensure parts are properly staged.
  • Set aside parts in the staging area that do not have an invoice until all routes are checked.
  • Set aside invoices that are missing parts until all routes are reviewed.
  • Check extra parts against invoices to identify parts placed in the wrong staging area.
  • Use PDA/scanning systems to locate invoices for parts without paperwork.
  • Reprint invoices when necessary.
  • Locate and pull stocked parts when invoices are missing required components.
  • Remove unavailable parts from invoices when appropriate and close invoices according to dealership procedures.
  • Bring unresolved missing-part issues to the attention of the appropriate personnel.
  • Print packing lists prior to the arrival of inbound freight.
  • Process supersessions before freight arrives.
  • Identify allocation, restriction, discontinued, or unavailable parts and report them appropriately.
  • Scan, invoice, receive, and stage inbound freight.
  • Ensure completed invoices are properly initialed and left in the staging area.
  • Check and receipt all parts received into the warehouse.
  • Stage parts properly for delivery and dealership use.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly automotive parts warehouse.
  • Remove debris, garbage, empty boxes, and other materials from the warehouse.
  • Keep empty totes in designated cages.
  • Ensure cages are returned daily.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and organized parts inventory.
  • Follow all dealership safety procedures and use equipment properly.
