Automotive Parts Department Inventory Specialist
About The Position
Riverhead Automall is hiring a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Inventory Specialist for its Hyundai and Nissan Parts Department in Riverhead, New York. This full-time position is suited to someone who wants to learn the automotive parts business in a fast-paced, team-oriented dealership and warehouse environment. Automotive experience is preferred but not required, and training is provided by an experienced automotive parts professional with more than 25 years of industry experience. The role focuses on receiving and organizing inventory, processing customer and manufacturer returns, and supporting daily department operations. It also includes filling in for parts delivery personnel when needed. The position offers training in parts counter operations, manufacturer parts identification and catalog systems, wholesale and retail sales, customer relationships, ordering, inventory management, and dealership operations. With experience, the role may lead to a Parts Counter Specialist position.
Requirements
- Be dependable, punctual, and motivated to learn.
- Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Be comfortable working in a warehouse and dealership environment.
- Be able to safely lift and move automotive parts and inventory.
- Have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for occasional delivery duties.

Responsibilities
- Check in daily parts deliveries, verify incoming shipments for accuracy, and stock parts in designated inventory locations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient inventory shelves, storage areas, and workspaces.
- Process customer parts returns, inspect returned merchandise, and return eligible parts to inventory.
- Assist with organizing, preparing, and processing Hyundai and Nissan manufacturer obsolescence returns.
- Fill in as a parts delivery driver when regular delivery personnel are unavailable.
- Support daily Parts Department operations to promote inventory accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service.
