About The Position

The Automotive Parts Associate assists mechanics and customers with purchasing parts and supplies at Balise Subaru of Hadley. The role tracks incoming and outgoing dealership parts, supports accurate billing and payment collection, and maintains records so parts can be identified and referenced easily. The associate uses parts manuals in print and electronic formats to identify the correct parts for vehicles by make, model, and year, and provides customer service by phone and in person. The position also involves packaging and shipping parts back to the manufacturer, putting away orders, monitoring backorders and stock, and notifying service advisors, customers, body shops, and the Parts Manager about parts status and needs. Other duties may be assigned by the Parts Manager.

Requirements

Experience in the automotive parts field.
Customer service skills.
Organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with vehicle products is preferred but not required.
Tekion knowledge and experience are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Track all incoming and outgoing parts for the dealership.
Collect payment for parts and ensure parts are billed correctly through the service department and collision repair.
Package and ship parts back to the manufacturer.
Maintain records, including tagging parts with the customer name and job number.
Consult paper and electronic parts manuals to identify the correct parts for vehicles by make, model, and year.
Provide high-quality customer service.
Answer phone calls and provide price quotes and other information.
Notify the Parts Manager about out-of-stock parts or materials requiring immediate attention.
Notify the Service Advisor and/or customer when specialty parts arrive.
Notify body shops when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered.
Put away orders in a timely manner.
Follow up on backordered parts.
Perform other duties assigned by the Parts Manager.
