About The Position

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc. is seeking dependable, detail-oriented team members to join our production team as Automotive Part Painters on 1st and 2nd shift. This is a great opportunity for motivated individuals who want to build a career in a fast-paced, team-focused manufacturing environment. No experience needed — full training provided. As an Automotive Part Painter, you will help prepare and paint high-quality automotive components while ensuring consistent finish, appearance, and quality standards throughout the production process.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting up to 60 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation and excellent attendance, especially during the 60-day probation period.
  • Willing to follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Basic math and reading skills for work instructions and labels.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare automotive parts for painting.
  • Utilize solvent based paint spray gun and automotive part masks to paint part properly
  • Apply paint or coating according to work instructions and quality standards.
  • Inspect parts for coverage, finish, and surface defects.
  • Touch up or correct parts as needed to meet quality expectations.
  • Hang, load, unload, or move parts as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area while following 5S and safety standards.
  • Record production and scrap information as needed.
