Automotive Paint Prepper – Collision Center
About The Position
Diehl Collision of Grove City is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Automotive Paint Prepper to join our growing collision repair team in Grove City, Pennsylvania. If you have experience with automotive paint preparation, sanding, masking, priming, body shop work, collision repair, or automotive refinishing, this is an excellent opportunity to build your career with Diehl Automotive. Requirements
- Reliable, motivated, and interested in producing quality automotive work.
- Previous automotive paint prep or body shop experience preferred
- Experience sanding, masking, priming, and preparing vehicles for paint
- Familiarity with automotive collision repair and refinishing procedures
- Ability to use sanders and other automotive prep equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced collision center
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Experience as an Automotive Paint Prepper, Auto Body Prepper, Collision Center Prep Technician, Body Shop Technician, Automotive Painter Helper, Detailer, or Collision Repair Technician is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles and automotive body panels for refinishing and paint
- Sand repaired areas to create smooth, paint-ready surfaces
- Mask vehicles, trim, glass, wheels, and other areas before painting
- Perform scuffing, feather edging, and surface preparation
- Apply primers, sealers, and other prep materials as directed
- Inspect surfaces for imperfections before vehicles enter the paint booth
- Assist with minor body preparation and repair work
- Clean and prepare panels and vehicle surfaces before refinishing
- Remove masking materials following the painting process
- Assist painters and body technicians throughout the repair process
- Maintain paint prep tools, equipment, and work areas
- Follow proper safety procedures when working with automotive refinishing products
- Help maintain an organized, efficient, and productive collision center
