About The Position

We are looking for a Metallurgical Lab Technician to prepare heat-treated components and conduct testing to analyze material structures, micro-hardness, and case depth using specialized metallurgical equipment. The technician reviews results against specifications, prepares reports, and approves materials based on established criteria and requirements. Results are communicated promptly to the met lab supervisor and plant management. The role also involves developing and maintaining charts and reports for the sediment and metallurgical processes, following Global Manufacturing System procedures, and supporting safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Strong computer skills and ability to organize and prepare reports.
Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Perform metallurgical testing to analyze material structure, hardness, case depth, and other properties as required.
Perform testing according to required specifications and within production deadlines.
Review test results against specifications, prepare reports, and approve materials based on criteria and requirements.
Promptly communicate results to the met lab supervisor and plant management.
Develop and maintain charts and reports for the sediment and metallurgical processes.
Comply with Global Manufacturing System systems and procedures.
Problem-solve during manufacturing processes.
Safely operate laboratory equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance, and report issues to management.
Follow safety guidelines, wear proper PPE, handle chemicals safely, and promptly report unsafe work conditions or equipment.
