About The Position

Nissan of Hendersonville is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and hands-on Merchandising & Inventory Manager to oversee the presentation, accuracy, movement, and online merchandising of our new and pre-owned vehicle inventory. This is a dealership-level position for someone who understands that how vehicles are received, photographed, displayed, priced, and presented online directly impacts customer interest, lead generation, inventory turn, and dealership profitability. The Merchandising & Inventory Manager will work closely with the General Manager, Sales Managers, Used Car Manager, Service Department, and dealership vendors to ensure our inventory is accurate, retail-ready, professionally presented, and effectively marketed both online and on the lot.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous automotive dealership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with vehicle inventory management or automotive merchandising preferred
  • Experience with dealership inventory-management, website, CRM, or DMS systems is a plus
  • Automotive photography experience preferred
  • Familiarity with online automotive marketplaces and vehicle-listing platforms
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screening

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of new and pre-owned vehicle inventory.
  • Track vehicles from acquisition or delivery through the retail-ready process.
  • Verify that incoming vehicles are properly entered into dealership systems.
  • Monitor the physical location and status of vehicles throughout the dealership.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate dealer trades and inventory movement as directed by management.
  • Monitor aged inventory and provide regular reporting to dealership leadership.
  • Assist management with identifying inventory requiring additional attention or merchandising.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Service, Detail, and other departments to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the reconditioning and retail-ready process.
  • Ensure sold, transferred, or otherwise unavailable vehicles are promptly removed or updated in dealership systems and online listings.
  • Ensure every retail vehicle is accurately and professionally represented online.
  • Coordinate and/or photograph vehicles promptly after they become retail-ready.
  • Maintain consistent, high-quality vehicle photography.
  • Ensure vehicle listings contain accurate equipment, features, mileage, pricing, descriptions, and other relevant information.
  • Create compelling vehicle descriptions that highlight important features and benefits.
  • Monitor dealership website inventory for missing photos, incorrect information, duplicate vehicles, pricing discrepancies, and other errors.
  • Work with website and inventory vendors to resolve feed or listing issues quickly.
  • Monitor third-party automotive websites to ensure inventory is displayed correctly.
  • Maintain consistent merchandising standards across all digital platforms.
  • Maintain an attractive, organized, and professional vehicle display throughout the dealership.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly positioned, identified, and presented.
  • Regularly inspect inventory for cleanliness and overall retail readiness.
  • Coordinate with Detail and Service to address vehicles requiring attention.
  • Assist management with changing vehicle displays based on inventory priorities, promotions, seasons, and sales objectives.
  • Ensure featured, promotional, and aged vehicles receive appropriate visibility.
  • Maintain consistency between the dealership's physical inventory and its online presentation.
