About The Position

Pomp’s Tire Service is seeking a Mechanic to help keep vehicles operating safely. The role includes tire replacement and repair, oil changes, alignments, and brake and shock replacements, using a range of tools and equipment. The mechanic will diagnose customer issues, inspect vehicles for additional concerns, and keep the work area clean and organized.

Requirements

• Diesel mechanical knowledge or experience is required.
• Passenger automotive knowledge or experience is required.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, air wrenches, and other essential tools.
• Ability to lift, push, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stretch, lift, push, pull, and reach without difficulty; frequent kneeling and bending over the back.

Responsibilities

• Replace and repair passenger and light truck tires; perform oil changes and tire alignments; replace brakes and shocks as required.
• Use hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, brake lathes, air wrenches, and other essential equipment.
• Diagnose customer issues and conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify additional concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
