About The Position

We are currently hiring for Automotive Technicians at our Manheim location. We're looking for techs who take pride in quality work and want to grow with a team that actually invests in your future. Candidates may be hired at one of the following levels depending on experience, qualifications, and business need: Automotive Technician I, Automotive Technician Level 2, and Senior Automotive Technician. All levels receive a $1,500 New Hire Tool Bonus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 or more years of related work experience (Level I).
  • The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of vehicle service and repair experience (Level 2).
  • Minimum 5+ years of automotive service and repair experience (Senior).
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED (All Levels).
  • Current ASE Certifications: G1, A4, A5 status when required by leadership (Level I).
  • Current ASE Certification: G1, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 when required by leadership (Level 2).
  • Current ASE Certifications: A1-9, (L1 in emission states) when required by leadership (Senior).

Responsibilities

  • Perform light-duty work as an intermediate-level auto tech (Level I).
  • Improve skills in a supportive environment (Level I).
  • Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices (Level I).
  • Perform auto maintenance tech duties, including oil and filter changes, transmission flush, spark plugs, and vehicle inspections (Level I).
  • Perform battery testing, maintenance, and replacement, and testing of charging electrical systems (Level I).
  • Perform various repairs including tires, safety inspections, and interior/exterior components (Level I).
  • Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering and suspension systems (Level I).
  • Perform an evacuation and recharge on the AC system (Level I).
  • Perform maintenance on equipment (Level I).
  • Utilize approved vendors to obtain parts (Level I).
  • May upfit new vehicles with necessary equipment (Level I).
  • Complies with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash (Level I).
  • Get hands dirty serving as a mid-level auto tech performing medium-duty work (Level 2).
  • Provide highly skilled maintenance and repairs for all vehicles (Level 2).
  • Perform diagnostics which may include brake components, tires, suspension components, drivability and complete repairs (Level 2).
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, which may include charging, starting, AC, OBDII, drivability, electrical systems and complete repairs (Level 2).
  • Complete mechanical inspection including required measurements, which may include interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, under hood inspection and document deficiencies (Level 2).
  • Comply with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires and disposable trash (Level 2).
  • May be required to perform OEM recalls (Level 2).
  • Perform heavy duty work and the duties of a level 1 and 2 auto tech (Senior).
  • Work independently or in a team environment (Senior).
  • Perform advanced diagnostics (Senior).
  • Perform clutch and transmission replacement (Senior).
  • Identify required parts and partner with parts & procurement teams to acquire necessary parts, supplies and materials (Senior).
  • Alert team lead and/or management about difficult issues, patterns and trends (Senior).
  • May upfit new vehicles with necessary equipment (Senior).
  • May be required to perform OEM recalls (Senior).
