About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced automotive mechanic technician to perform a full range of repairs and diagnostics on vehicles at one of its high-tech Inspection Centers. Work ranges from light maintenance to complex repairs, including heavy engine work, and covers all makes and models. The position includes diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical issues, including on electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as wheel bearings, axles, and climate-control systems.

The role is in a fast-paced, changing production environment and may involve exposure to heat or cold. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, between 6 AM and 3 PM Central Standard Time. Mandatory overtime may be required to meet business needs. The listed pay range is $21.50 to $32.50, depending on level. The posting also advertises a $6,000 bonus for A-Level hires.

Carvana describes its vehicle reconditioning centers as locations where cars are inspected, repaired, and photographed before being listed for customers. Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes with exposure to excessive heat or cold.
• Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and complex repairs on vehicles of all makes and models.
• Perform repairs ranging from timing belts and suspension systems to heavy engine work.
• Diagnose and repair advanced vehicle electrical issues, including on electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Repair wheel bearings and axles.
• Repair vehicle climate-control systems, including air conditioning and heater cores.
• Work in a production environment to help prepare vehicles for customers.
