About The Position

Performs skilled work in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of automobiles and medium-duty diesel vehicles in a safe and efficient manner. This includes diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring vehicles operate safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive repair
• At least 1 year focused on medium-duty diesel engines
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diesel engines, and diagnostic procedures
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Familiarity with federal and state safety regulations for vehicle maintenance
• Requires following strict safety protocols and ability to ensure all applicable safety practices are in place and followed
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Ability to establish and effective working relationships
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow directions

Nice To Haves

• technical certification in automotive or diesel technology preferred

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles.
• Specialize in medium-duty diesel engines, including troubleshooting and repair of fuel systems, emissions, and electronic controls.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Order and maintain parts, tools, and equipment as needed.
• Assist with and/or perform additional duties as required by operating needs or as directed by management.
• May be required to work non-regular hours.
