About The Position

Ocean Mazda Roswell is seeking an experienced and skilled Automotive Mainline Technician to join our Service Department. We are looking for a technician with strong diagnostic and repair capabilities who takes pride in performing quality work correctly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, productive, safety-conscious, and committed to providing an exceptional level of service. Mazda or franchise dealership experience is preferred; however, experienced technicians from other automotive brands are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Previous professional automotive technician experience required.
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
  • Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
  • Ability to read and properly document repair orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-oriented service environment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have appropriate technician tools necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to meet applicable pre-employment requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Mazda or franchise dealership experience is preferred
  • Franchise dealership experience strongly preferred.
  • Mazda experience and/or Mazda certifications are a plus.
  • ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and vehicle performance concerns.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards.
  • Perform engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brake, cooling, electrical, HVAC, and other vehicle-system repairs.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, scan tools, technical service information, and manufacturer resources to accurately diagnose vehicle concerns.
  • Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections and identify required or recommended maintenance and repairs.
  • Clearly document diagnostic findings, repair recommendations, and work performed on repair orders.
  • Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while meeting dealership quality and productivity standards.
  • Perform warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer requirements and documentation standards.
  • Communicate additional repair needs to Service Advisors and management.
  • Road-test vehicles when necessary to verify customer concerns and completed repairs.
  • Maintain responsibility for vehicles assigned throughout the repair process.
  • Properly use, maintain, and protect dealership tools and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Stay current with manufacturer technical information, service bulletins, recalls, and repair procedures.
  • Complete required manufacturer and dealership training.
  • Work cooperatively with Service Advisors, Parts personnel, other Technicians, and Service Management.
  • Assist and mentor less-experienced technicians when appropriate.
  • Follow all dealership safety procedures and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Service Management.
