Automotive Lube Technician
About The Position
Horne Mazda is looking for a motivated Automotive Lube Technician to join their award-winning service team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the automotive industry, who enjoy working with their hands, and are eager to build a long-term career as a technician. The dealership offers hands-on training, factory certification opportunities, and a clear path for career advancement, making it an excellent opportunity for those with previous dealership or independent shop experience, or recent graduates from automotive training programs like EVIT, UTI, or AAI.
Requirements
- 1+ year of automotive experience in a dealership or independent repair shop preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service department
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Nice To Haves
- EVIT, UTI, AAI, or other automotive training is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, filter replacements, belts, and basic brake services
- Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections
- Assist Senior Master Technicians with diagnostics and repairs
- Perform repairs within your current skill level while continuing to develop your technical abilities
- Identify additional maintenance or repair needs and communicate findings to the Service Advisor
- Accurately document all completed work on repair orders
- Road test vehicles when appropriate
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all Mazda and dealership safety procedures
