About The Position
Kerr, a Safe Fleet brand, is seeking a full-time Automotive Installer to join their team. Requirements
- Experience working with automotive electrical systems.
- Experience working with automotive mechanical systems.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be a constructive team player and possess and exhibit a positive attitude.
- Be detail-oriented and focused on quality workmanship.
- Be comfortable in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
- Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment that may require heavy physical duties.
- Work will involve frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping and kneeling.
- Expected to supply their own set of tools commonly used in the performance of automotive repair work.
Nice To Haves
- Completed at least two years, preferably graduated, from a four-year trade school, vocational high school or equivalent, with courses in general shop and automotive repair.
- Possess a valid mechanic’s license.
- ASE Automotive Technician certification.
- EVT Emergency Vehicle Technician certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform all upfitting tasks necessary to modify brand-new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles.
- Install equipment including wire harnesses, controllers, partitions, auxiliary batteries, light bars, push bumpers, power supplies, component trays, and consoles.
- Disassemble and reassemble factory vehicles.
- Read drawings, including electrical schematics, with limited assistance.
- Work independently.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Find efficiencies while respecting quality.
- Contribute ideas to the company.
