About The Position

ABRA Auto Body & Glass, part of the Durango Motor Company family, is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in automotive glass installation and advanced vehicle calibration. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical ability who enjoys hands-on work and is eager to learn. No prior experience is necessary, as we provide comprehensive, hands-on training to develop you into a fully trained Glass Installer & Calibration Technician within one year. During training, you will master professional glass installation techniques, vehicle calibration procedures, equipment operation, and essential repair processes for modern vehicles. Fully trained technicians performing calibrations can expect to earn between $65,000 and $85,000 annually. Success in this role requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and coachability.   • Ability to remain in stationary positions (standing/sitting) for extended periods of time, 6 plus hours
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs comfortably
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, or stoop as needed
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet company motor vehicle requirements
  • Ability to safely operate a company van with tools and equipment
  • Willing to submit to a pre-hire background check

Nice To Haves

  • Previous automotive, mechanical, glass, construction, or hands-on trade experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Participate in hands-on training to become a professional automotive Glass Installer & Calibration Technician
  • Learn and perform automotive glass installation procedures according to company and manufacturer standards
  • Learn and perform advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) calibrations using specialized equipment
  • Follow established safety procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines
  • Properly operate and care for glass installation and calibration equipment
  • Assist experienced technicians while developing the skills necessary to work independently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Progress through training with the goal of becoming a fully trained technician within one year or less
  • Upon completion of training, operate a company vehicle to perform mobile glass installations and calibrations
  • Safely transport and operate required tools and equipment at mobile service locations
  • Continue developing technical knowledge and skills as vehicle technology and calibration requirements evolve
