About The Position

The General Service Technician is an hourly, full-time or part-time position based on business needs. The role performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The technician is expected to deliver exceptional 5 Star service by effectively communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions and consistently meeting guests’ expectations for quality and timing. Monro is a U.S. automotive service and tire dealer with nearly 1,100 shops in 32 states and 16 regional tire and auto service brands. Requirements

Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
Perform tire services, including wheel removal, balancing, patch and plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
Perform vehicle services, including lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance such as bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements, and battery testing and installation.
Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection process on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading deliveries, and stocking inventory.
Assist with general store duties and keep the store clean, maintained to Monro standards, and guest-ready.
Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test drive vehicles according to Monro’s Road Test policy and designated routes while observing local traffic and safety laws.
Follow company policies and procedures, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards, and consistently use required safety practices.
Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities by completing required Monro University training courses and modules on time.
Safely operate, use, and maintain equipment according to Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
