Requirements
- Active Texas State Vehicle Inspector License is required.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are mandatory.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a professional shop environment or automotive trade school preferred.
- Comfortable performing basic maintenance, safety inspections, and utilizing tablets/digital inspection software.
- Basic set of hand tools appropriate for an entry-level position (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers).
- A highly dependable individual with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a coachable attitude.
Responsibilities
- Perform official Texas state vehicle safety and emissions inspections.
- Perform high-quality oil changes, fluid flushes, and preventative maintenance services.
- Conduct tire services, including mounting, balancing, rotations, and flat repairs.
- Replace basic wear-and-tear items such as batteries, bulbs, wiper blades, and filters.
- Complete thorough digital vehicle inspections (DVIs) using a shop tablet to check brakes, steering, suspension, and fluid conditions.
- Document inspection findings clearly with notes and photographs to assist the service advisors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized shop floor.
