About The Position

As an automotive detailer, you will be a member of Storyteller’s production quality team. You will take full ownership of detailing adventure vans and/or adventure trucks so that when the product is delivered to a member of our dealer network, they are wowed by the product and how sparkling clean it is. This makes you yet another Storyteller brand ambassador of our reputation within our vibrant community of vanlifers, adventure seekers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

  • Precision and coordination are crucial for assembling intricate components and operating machinery.
  • Employees must be capable of using hand and power tools with a steady hand.
  • Assembly tasks may require reaching, stretching, and bending to access components, equipment, and workstations as well as the ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch is necessary for accessing low-lying work areas and performing assembly tasks close to the ground.
  • Good visual acuity to inspect and ensure the quality of components and products. This may involve reading technical documents and operating machinery with precision.
  • Ability to hear and respond to alarms, machinery sounds, and co-worker communication in a manufacturing environment.
  • For tasks involving computer work or documentation, employees may be required to sit for extended periods.
  • Exposure to chemicals or substances used in the manufacturing process. Proper safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including exposure to both hot and cold weather, and the capacity to take appropriate measures to ensure personal comfort and safety during such conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior automotive detailing experience a plus
  • Experience with trailers and strapping techniques
  • Experience reading reports and organizing complex documentation

Responsibilities

  • Monitor evolving shipping schedules and prioritize unit detailing based on nearest ship dates.
  • Perform thorough cleaning and detailing of vans and trucks to ensure units meet shipment-ready standards for our dealer network.
  • Identify and document any quality defects, escalating issues to the Quality/Production team for resolution prior to shipment.
  • Execute all pre-shipment processes in accordance with internal standards and procedures.
  • Prepare, manage, and verify all shipping documentation and dealer packets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with transport drivers to ensure safe, efficient loading and on-time shipment of units.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the fleet quality team by co-elevating with all team members through collaboration, cooperation, and camaraderie.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned to support organizational and team goals.
