About The Position

Kniesel’s Collision is seeking a dependable, motivated, and hardworking Automotive Detailer / Lot Porter to support our collision repair team. This hybrid position combines vehicle detailing with lot and shop support responsibilities. You’ll help ensure vehicles move efficiently through the repair process, maintain an organized facility, and put the finishing touches on repaired vehicles before they are returned to our customers. More importantly, we are looking for someone with a genuine passion for cars and an interest in learning the collision repair trade. For someone looking to turn a passion for cars into a career, this position can be the first step toward Kniesel’s Apprentice Program, providing valuable exposure to our shops, technicians, repair processes, tools, quality standards, and company culture. Someone who demonstrates initiative, reliability, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn may have the opportunity to pursue the next step toward becoming a skilled collision repair professional.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to safely operate a variety of customer vehicles.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work on your feet throughout the workday.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced collision repair environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare repaired vehicles for customer delivery by thoroughly cleaning and detailing interiors and exteriors, ensuring each vehicle reflects Kniesel’s commitment to quality and WOW Customer Service.
Help ensure completed vehicles are clean, presentable, and ready for customer delivery.
Conduct final visual inspections and identify dirt, blemishes, or other concerns requiring attention before delivery.
Remove protective coverings and assist with final vehicle preparation.
Safely move customer and company vehicles throughout the lot and facility.
Park, stage, and organize vehicles to support an efficient production flow.
Transport vehicles between repair areas, detail areas, delivery areas, and other designated locations.
Maintain an orderly lot and keep drive lanes and vehicle staging areas clear.
Assist technicians, estimators, and management with vehicle movement and other production-support needs.
As directed, assist repair technicians with basic vehicle preparation activities such as masking, taping, sanding, or other entry-level shop tasks.
Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly care for detailing tools and equipment.
Monitor detailing supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
Assist with light facility cleanup, debris removal, and maintaining a professional shop environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or General Manager.
