An Automotive BDC (Business Development Center) Representative manages customer communication (calls, emails, chats) to convert leads into scheduled sales or service appointments, focusing on prompt follow-up, appointment setting/confirmation, and database management using a CRM, acting as the crucial first contact to build rapport and drive showroom and service traffic. They handle inbound/outbound calls, respond to online inquiries, maintain customer records, and coordinate with sales/service teams, requiring strong communication, computer, and sales-oriented skills. Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer and CRM proficiency.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and knack for sales/marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Management: Respond quickly to internet leads, phone calls, and website inquiries.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule sales appointments for the showroom and service appointments for the service department.
  • Customer Follow-Up: Confirm appointments, reschedule no-shows, and maintain contact with customers.
  • Communication: Handle high volumes of inbound/outbound calls, emails, and chats with a courteous and professional manner, often using scripts.
  • CRM/Database Management: Accurately log all customer interactions, update information, and track leads in the dealership's software.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of current inventory, promotions, and dealership offerings.
  • Sales Support: Assist sales and service teams by ensuring leads are properly handled and customers are prepared for their visit.
