About The Position

Repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications. This role involves preparing vehicles for repair, checking parts, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards. The technician must also adhere to safety regulations regarding hazardous materials and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Technical secondary education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be well organized, able to establish priorities and handle a variety of projects and functions simultaneously with minimum supervision.
  • 2 or more years of body shop experience working in automotive dealership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
