About The Position

The Automotive Body Shop Painter is a mechanically skilled individual with a conscientious work ethic who is responsible for priming, prepping, masking, and painting vehicles. This is an integral role within the Body Shop Department that requires impeccable quality and skills. Reporting directly to the Body Shop Manager, the Automotive Painter works closely with the Collision Estimator to ensure that customers' vehicles are painted properly and in the most efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in automotive painting
  • Valid Red Seal certification required or 3rd-4th year apprentice
  • Must have own tools
  • Valid BC driver’s license required
  • Physically capable of properly lifting up to 25 kg (55 lbs.)
  • Commitment to continuous learning to update industry knowledge
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Self-driven to work independently with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Detail-orientated and conscientious work ethic
  • Ability to problem-solve and find creative solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PPG paint systems an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prime, prep, mask, and paint vehicles
  • Mix paint according to specifications
  • Correct paints flaws as needed
  • Maintain a clean, efficient and safe working environment
  • Learn and stay current with the newest techniques and materials
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned or modified as necessary throughout the course of your employment.
