About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Automation/Witness Test Engineer - LVA - 1st Shift. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at our Arden (Asheville) NC Eaton location. The Automation/Test Engineer will provide systems integration engineering and technical consultation for customers, manufacturing, and engineering in the areas of system design, programming, installation, maintenance, testing, training and modification of automated control systems and power management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering technology from an accredited institution.
  • Previous training or experience with programable controllers.
  • Experience with Low Voltage Switchgear
  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Asheville NC Eatton location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or Electrical engineering technology from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) year of LVA Product Engineering/COE experience with completion of the Eaton Asheville Low Voltage Assemblies (LVA) COE Engineer Training Program.
  • A working knowledge of applicable Low Voltage Assemblies products and regulatory standards (UL, CSA, and IEC).
  • Two years of experience with programable controller and human machine interface.
  • Experience with control system design and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s).
  • Program Human Machine interfaces (HMI’s).
  • Design and implement power system control schemes including switchgear transfer control, load management control, generator control, microgrid control, and SCADA system development.
  • Assist with testing, programming, and troubleshooting of Low Voltage Assemblies automation control systems.
  • Manage customer witness test and provide detailed reports and resolution.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to department personnel as required.
  • Perform drawing updates and initiate manufacturing/engineering changes.
  • Consult with plant and field sales engineers.
