About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Automation Tool & Die Specialist coordinates project workflows and applies advanced mechanical, tooling, and automation expertise to assemble, install, debug, and support precision tooling and automated systems. This role partners with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver high-precision solutions that meet customer specifications and delivery requirements. Oberg Industries LLC is a local, family-owned, contract manufacturer and supply chain integrator providing tooling/metal stamping and precision machining services to many well-known companies around the world. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of precision machining and grinding processes.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5–10%).
  • Must be a U.S citizen and be able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC machining, grinding, or wire EDM environment.

  • SolidWorks preferred.
  • Tool & Die experience preferred.
  • Automation system assembly experience preferred.
  • Tool & die assembly experience preferred.
  • Completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and plan assembly shop project workflows to meet delivery schedules.
  • Assemble, troubleshoot, and debug precision tooling and automation systems.
  • Install industrial automation systems and tooling at customer sites.
  • Perform field service, repairs, and maintenance on customer equipment.
  • Determine assembly methods, sequences, and system integration strategies.
  • Support controls installation and system debugging.
  • Participate in project kick-off and product realization meetings.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring.
  • Provide technical support across engineering, manufacturing, and development phases.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve design or process challenges.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept testing for feasibility of new projects.
  • Maintain organized and safe work area.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and all applicable regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
