About The Position

The Automation Technician 1 is responsible for the set-up and maintenance of all electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on equipment used in the production process. The role requires working in an environment exposed to elements such as coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

Requirements

1+ year experience with industrial control systems and/or robotic control systems.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience in PLC and HMI programming.
Knowledge of electronics.
Must demonstrate computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical assembly.
Machining experience.
Associate Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Robotics Technology.

Responsibilities

Perform installation of process control and robotic equipment.
Perform update modifications, preventative maintenance, and periodic performance checks.
Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure it functions properly.
Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, or calibrate industrial machines.
Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
Interact with all levels of the operational team.
Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
Maintain service records of control devices and automated equipment, repairing when needed.
