About The Position

We're partnering with a global manufacturing organization that operates highly automated, high-speed production systems serving international markets. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are adding an Automation Technician to support automated production equipment, process controls, instrumentation systems, and plant-wide automation infrastructure. Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation & Control, or related field
  • 3+ years of industrial automation experience
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial controls
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo-driven systems
  • Support and modify PLC and HMI programs
  • Diagnose faults involving sensors, instrumentation, and process controls
  • Calibrate process instrumentation and control devices
  • Maintain industrial communication networks and automation infrastructure
  • Support new equipment commissioning and automation improvements
  • Troubleshoot and support automated production systems
  • Maintain high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment
  • Support robotics, conveyors, vision systems, and automated process equipment
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams during equipment failures and downtime events
  • Assist with process optimization and equipment upgrades
  • Execute preventative maintenance activities
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Analyze downtime trends and improve equipment reliability
  • Recommend automation improvements that increase productivity and uptime
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Support lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and troubleshooting documentation
  • Assist with audits, quality initiatives, and operational excellence programs
