The Automation Technician is responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting robotic and automation systems. This role requires a strong understanding of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The technician will work with the Maintenance Manager to schedule tasks that support production, perform modifications on fixtures, and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Key responsibilities include identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, fabricating automation and robotic systems, installing and programming controllers and robots, integrating robotics with peripherals, and providing support for new or existing equipment. The role also involves troubleshooting, disassembling and reassembling robots, developing robotic path motions, programming and debugging robotics, building robotic devices, fabricating components, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, maintaining service records, documenting tasks, and creating backups of programs. Safety and environmental responsibilities are also integral to this position.
