About The Position

We are looking for a skilled Automation Technician to join our Maintenance team. This role supports our high‑volume production environment by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the automated systems that keep our operations running efficiently and safely. If you enjoy hands‑on technical work, solving problems, and supporting a growing manufacturing operation, this may be the role for you.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or related Skilled Trades Field
  • Min. 3 years of experience in automation or controls within a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of robotics, sensors, actuators, and industrial networking.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Reliable attendance is critical.
  • Must be able to follow Work Instructions, GMPs, and complete forms accurately.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, statutory holidays, and on-call hours, to support production demands.
  • Will be exposed to noise, temperature variations, and moving machinery.
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods, working in varying temperatures and humidity levels, and lifting (up to 25kgs), pushing, pulling, and repetitive movements.

Responsibilities

  • Embody and promote company’s core values (Integrity, Growth and Resilience).
  • Configure automated machinery, robotics, and control systems used across production process.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on sensors, actuators, and other automation components.
  • Inspect equipment routinely to identify wear, hazards, or performance issues.
  • Respond quickly to automation‑related breakdowns, faults, and system alarms.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control‑system issues using tools, diagrams, and system data.
  • Repair or replace components and implement corrective measures to prevent repeat failures.
  • Program and adjust HMIs and control parameters to maintain stable and efficient operation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline automated processes and improve throughput or consistency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for maintenance, programming updates, and system modifications.
  • Follow HACCP, GMP, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety procedures during all automation work.
  • Report hazards or non‑conformances and ensure automation systems meet food‑safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with production, QA, and maintenance teams during troubleshooting, upgrades, and commissioning.
  • Train operators and maintenance staff on the safe and effective use of automated equipment, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Communicate equipment status, risks, and improvement recommendations clearly to supervisors and cross‑functional teams.
  • Develop and implement work instructions including operating and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
