About The Position

The Automation Technician’s role is to support and initiate automation programs throughout the facility by implementing and maintaining automation projects and equipment.

Requirements

  • University Degree/College Diploma in a related field (Electromechanical Engineering Technician, Electronics/Electrician Technician, or Technology Diploma) 2 year program.
  • Minimum 1 year ABB/NACHI/FANUC Robot programming experience.
  • Good communication (Read and comprehend instructions).
  • Organizational and dexterity skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of components and materials used in the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Program and maintain robots and automated equipment to comply with customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all automated equipment to maintain productivity on a day-to-day basis (Controls, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Transfers).
  • Assist in engineering quality, productivity, and reliability (Continuous Improvement, Tracking cycle time).
  • Maintain and monitor proper safe operations of all equipment.
  • Maintain safe working habits.
  • Maintain all equipment through preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Reporting day-to-day activities to supervisors.
  • Updating all related documents.
  • Ensure good housekeeping is kept up on the shop floor.
  • EOA / Machine start-up.
  • EOA7 / build.
  • Back-up programs (Robot, PLC).
  • Bowl feeder integration.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS policy CEVPL.00005.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Quality Management System (QMS) as stated in CQAM.00001 – Corporate Quality Manual.
