About The Position

The machinist, automation, is responsible for welding and fabricating components used in blow mold machine manufacturing. This role involves laying out, fitting, and fabricating steel components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, performing various types of welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) to produce high-quality welds on all products and assemblies. The technician must be able to read and interpret blueprints, product specifications, work instructions, and parts lists, and accurately understand measurements and dimensions. Additionally, the role requires troubleshooting malfunctions, performing repairs, completing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the quality of all fabricated components and assemblies. Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Requirements

2+ years machining experience
High school degree, GED, or equivalent

Responsibilities

Layout, fit, and fabricate steel components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies
Perform MIG/TIG/Stick Welding
Produce high quality welds on all products and assemblies.
Read and interpret blueprints, product specifications, and work instructions.
Read and understand all parts lists.
Have working knowledge of various power tools and hand tools.
Be able to understand and accurately interpret measurements, dimensions, and product specifications.
Read tape measures, slide-rules, and other measuring devices.
Resolve all assembly and production out-of-spec occurrences.
Complete preventive maintenance of work areas and assigned equipment.
Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
Be responsible for product quality of all fabricated components and assemblies.
