Automation Technician I
About The Position
Novolex is hiring Automation Technicians to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on automation equipment at its Bedford Park, Illinois facility. The role includes maintenance, setup, and preventive maintenance of automation equipment in Thermoforming and Extrusion, as well as diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment-related processing issues. Technicians may be called on as needed by the department and must be flexible with their schedules. The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Available schedules are a 2-2-3 day shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or a 2-2-3 night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Compensation is $36.44 to $43.71 per hour, paid weekly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five or more years of automation technician experience in the Thermoforming and Extrusion industry.
- Strong electrical, PLC programming, and mechanical technical skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication, and teamwork skills.
- Good judgment, motivation, planning, organizing, professionalism, quality, quantity, safety, adaptability, attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, and innovation.
- Ability to work in tight spaces and on ladders or platforms.
