About The Position

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. This includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management, as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning. Operations Maintenance is responsible for managing the service life of company assets, including physical building and utilities, manufacturing/warehouse equipment and tooling, office devices, and the physical layout of the facility. This responsibility is completed through the management of appropriate internal and external resources as needed to ensure the dependable and safe operations environment necessary for a given Cardinal facility. This group has responsibility for both corrective and preventative maintenance and the necessary systems to manage, schedule, and record this activity.

Requirements

4+ years of experience
Applies extensive knowledge and company policies to complete a wide range of assignments
Demonstrates expert understanding of all levels of the job family and has thorough knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility
Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignments
Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
Works on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues
Makes recommendations for new or revised processes and has a role in the implementation
Adheres to all quality guidelines
Works with minimal degree of supervision
Has latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelines
Provides guidance to less experienced team members
May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise

Responsibilities

Overseeing and maintaining operational readiness of SLAM at fully automated locations.
Inventory and account for repair parts for SLAM.
Ordering repair parts for SLAM as they are consumed.
Implementing and managing the reliability-based maintenance function.
Executing equipment inspection and monitoring programs.
Defining and implementing maintenance best practices to improve overall mechanical equipment uptime.
Continuously evaluating current maintenance, operations, and reliability methods and implementing changes to enhance effectiveness at increasing value-maximizing performance.
Monitoring operation and maintaining robots, conveyors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
Reviewing logs as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment.
Reporting any problems/malfunctions on an as needed/requested basis.
Performing preventive maintenance tasks when required per manufacturing standard and frequencies, utilizing a CMMS.
Overseeing repairs and PMs of equipment and implements frequency of repair and/or PM per manufacturers recommendations, standards, and warranty compliance.
Ensuring the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate all associated automation, including PSI.
Overseeing the activities of contractors working, operational demonstrations, or training sessions within the SLAM line.
