About The Position

This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of software and hardware, focusing on physical testing of industrial machinery, specifically large-scale automated systems used in the building industry. The ideal candidate will be passionate about quality and will thrive in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary environment. MiTek machinery is integrated with software developed by MiTek. This is a hands-on role that will physically test machinery that is designed and produced by MiTek to ensure maximum software quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment maintaining or troubleshooting large-scale industrial machinery
  • Basic understanding of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and computer systems
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to rapidly diagnose and troubleshoot automated systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with physical testing of machinery and interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics
  • Experience in quality assurance for manufacturing or industrial automation environments

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on physical testing of machinery, including verifying integrated software functionality in coordination with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Design, execute, and document test plans and procedures for software integrated with automated systems.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of testing equipment, including, but not limited to, routine cleaning, part replacement, adjustments, and minor repairs to uphold accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical/ electrical, simulation, and systems engineers to identify and resolve system-level issues.
  • Develop and maintain automated and manual test cases for embedded software.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios within the simulator environment to identify potential issues early in the development cycle, ensuring high-quality standards are met before physical deployment
  • Identify and resolve issues with automated machinery, robotic systems, and control systems.
  • This role will be required to be on site, 5 days per week, in order to physically test automation equipment.
